Richard Lynn Struble

Richard Lynn Struble of Porterville, California passed away at age 76 on September 18, 2024.

Born in Visalia, Rick attended Redwood High School, lettering in wrestling. He volunteered for the Army in 1967 but was honorably discharged following an injury sustained in basic training. Returning to Visalia, Rick managed branches of his parent's auto parts business on Mooney Boulevard, then in Tulare and finally in Porterville, where he spent most of his adult life. He had a special talent and love for design and fabrication.

After nearly 30 years in the family business, Rick established his own General Contracting business in which he did home improvement projects and remodels. A few years later he was hired by Full Scale Effects in Los Angeles to repair equipment and build custom props for commercials, TV shows and movies. In 2008, he moved over to the water effects company WET, which created the famous fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Rick started a new division there for Technical Assembly, hiring, training and managing 8 people.

In 2010, when his parent's health began to fail, he returned to Porterville to help them. He threw himself into community volunteer work, serving on the board of the Porterville Historical Museum for several years, including as President. He also could be depended upon to help serve meals at the Porterville Senior Center.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Traci Mason of Truckee; and grandchildren, Olivia and Barret Mason. His beloved younger daughter, Trisha, predeceased him in 2016.

A celebration of life Service will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, California on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM. Interment to be private.
