Cora L. Powers, 69, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Friday October 8, 2021, at 1:45 a.m. at her residence.
Cora was born March 31, 1952, in Jamestown, Ohio to Riggs and Maltie Jackson Powers. She lived most of her life in Fayette County and the Bloomingburg community.
She was a parts inspector at YUSA for 22 years before her retirement in 2013.
Cora was a volunteer and advocate for domestic violence awareness. She enjoyed attending church and fellowship with other people.
Cora was preceded in death by a grandson, Shane Christopher Gault in 2006, and by three brothers, Edmond, Chester and Riggs Powers.
She is survived by three daughters, Korrena Gault and her husband, Mike Stone, and Mary Treadway, all of Washington Court House and Jamie Morgan of Leesburg; six grandchildren, Elisha Shaw and his wife, Jordan Page Shaw, Tiffany, Tristin and Jordan Morgan, Michael Davis, Jr. and Haley Leonard; a great granddaughter, McKenna Ward; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Cathy Powers of Chillicothe and Bob and Sandy Powers of London and three sisters, Rose Beers of Jackson, Ohio and Nancy Landis and Martha Grubb and her husband, Bobby, all of Washington Court House.
The funeral will be Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with the Rev. Bert Alsept, minister at the Woodlawn Freewill Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
Friend may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
