Erma Bowman Obituary
ERMA "JEAN" BOWMAN, age 87, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 3:20 p.m. at St. Catherine's Manor of Washington Court House where she had been a resident since January.
She was born on August 26, 1933 in Vinton County, Ohio to Bert and Myrtle (Wilkerson) Harkins. After obtaining her GED, she became a licensed cosmetologist. Jean owned and operated her own salon in Chillicothe and had also taught beauty school in Sabina. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed shopping, cooking for her family, sewing and crocheting.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.M. "Cliff" Bowman, whom she married on August 25, 1949; and sister, Mary Jane Warner.
Survivors include her children, Charlotte (Michael) Jerrells, Mark (Terri) Bowman, and Tami (Tom) Bath; grandchildren, Michael (Rebecca) Jerrells, Matthew Jerrells, Jennifer Jerrells, Mark (Courtney) Bowman, Ashley (David) Berman, Brian (Michelle) Bath, and Emily Bath; great-grandchildren, Blake, Khloe, Kaiden, Larissa, Aeliyah, Avery, Tess, Evelyn, Eloise, and Amelia; and brother, Charles Harkins. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear and special friends.
In keeping with her wishes, her body will be donated to The Ohio State University College of Medicine for the advancement of science.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Rd., Circleville, OH 43113 or to the Hospice of your choice.
