Gary Allen Doles, age 61, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 after living a life filled with love, humor, and a deep love for God.
He was born on September 24, 1963 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Donald E. and Oleta A. (Maxwell) Doles. At an early age, Gary developed a love for being in the woods. Hunting brought him much enjoyment. He would often say, "I just want to be in the woods where everything makes sense."
On November 13, 1982, Gary was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He lived his life trying to help others learn more about the Bible's truths, serving for many years as an elder at the Washington CH Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, the people he loved deeply.
On September 14, 1985, Gary married the love of his life, Kelly (Harvey) Doles. They spent twenty-eight years together making many great memories with friends and family, especially on their trips to Mexico. In 2013, Gary lost his wife in death, a loss from which he would never fully recover. He lived out the rest of his life looking forward to a time when he would see his "baby girl" again. For a time, he found comfort again by spending time on his land hunting mushrooms, deer, and turkey and talking about all the things he yet wanted to accomplish.
Gary will continue to be known for his humor, heartfelt advice, and for being a pillar of support to his family and friends, who loved him dearly in return, including his Rooster's family.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Donald Doles; his wife, Kelly Doles; and his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Sandy Harvey.
He leaves behind his mother, Oleta "Edie" Doles; sister, Teresa Mace; brother, Kelly (Jessica) Doles; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Steve Majkowski; brother-in-law, Matt Harvey; nieces, Jessica Burge, and Spencer Gillingham; and nephew, Eli Weaver, as well as great nieces and a great nephew.
Gary will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
