Gerald Richard Wackman, 85, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Monday, December 15, 2014, at 4:56 a.m. shortly after arrival at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
Jerry was born August 2, 1929, in Washington Court House, Ohio to James and Stella Eva Haas Wackman. He was a graduate of Washington High School and received a bachelor's degree in agriculture from The Ohio State University.
He formerly was a farmer and, for many years, was co-owner and operator with his brother, James Wackman, Jr., of the J & J Restaurant.
Jerry was a member of the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Sabina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ruth Ann Cottrell on July 29, 2010; by two brothers, James Wackman, Jr. and Alex U. Wackman and three sisters, Mildred Irene Wackman, Freda Pitzer and Latrilla (Trilly) Coil.
Jerry is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Stacie L. and Franklin Deskins of Washington Court House; a granddaughter, Kelsie Bowdle and her friend, Deskins Campbell, of Washington Court House; a great granddaughter, Harper Ann Campbell; two sisters, Judith Ann Speakman of Washington Court House and Carolyn Barker and her husband, Ben, of Claremont, FL and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Carey G. Hilterbran, minister at the Trinity Full Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Wednesday until time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Full Gospel Church, 250 College Street, Sabina, Ohio 45169.

Jerry was a great relative and friend to all. He was a real gentleman, honest as could be, and among the most thoughtful people we know. He was a Buckeye through and through, and a dedicated family man. Everyone will miss him desperately. Beverly, the kids, and I will never forget his smile.
