James Richard "Jim" Cadwallader, age 87, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Court House Manor.
He was born on November 21, 1937 in Highland County to the late James Nelson and Blanche (Gall) Cadwallader. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and lived most of his life in the Hillsboro area. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked the last twenty-plus years of his career at Irwin Auger Bit Company in Wilmington. He was a faithful member at the Hillsboro Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for several years. Jim was a devoted Christian and had such a dear soul. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed square-dancing, cooking, traveling, and reading his Bible.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Cadwallader; and his first wife and mother of his son, Linda Lou Cadwallader.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Susan Elaine (Hixson) Cadwallader, whom he married on January 6, 2001; his son, Daniel (Tricia) Cadwallader; step-children, Kerrie Obert, and Douglas (Krystal "Lute" Weddington) Beechler; grandchildren, Amelia, Ethan, Nathan, Jacob, and Alex Cadwallader; step-grandchildren, Nathan Beechler, Michael (Chelsea) Beechler, Jacob Beechler, and Jordan (Kaitlyn) Beechler, and Kyle, Connor, and Codie Weddington; numerous great-grandchildren; and brother, Roger Cadwallader.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
