Jeffrey Charles Wimer, age 64, of Washington Court House, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, at his home. Born on August 13, 1960, in Washington C.H., he was the son of the late Charles H. and Dorothy E. Barney Wimer. On May 2, 1999, he married his loving wife of more than thirty years, the former Becky Lynn Myers.
Jeffrey attended Washington Senior High School and graduated from Laurel Oaks Career Campus in 1978. He worked at Jack's Manufacturing as a Production Manager for forty-seven years until his retirement. Jeffrey was a "gun enthusiast" and was a member of the Ohio Gun Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and took many fishing trips with his friends to Canada and Michigan with his family. Jeffrey and his wife also enjoyed tending to their vegetable garden at home. One of his favorite past times was taking his beloved dogs, Lou Lou and Charlie on long car rides looking for deer.
Survivors include his wife, Becky; his sister, Shirley Wimer; his children, Alycia Wimer, Renee (Roy) Stanley, Chris Underwood and Jill (Corey) Anschutz; his nieces and nephews, Jamie Creed, Ryan (Thasia) Creed and Bryan (Terri) Creed; his great-niece and nephew, Ciera and Zander. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Dylan, Derrien, Deakon, Shantel, Heather, Kodi, Karena, Kolton and Emilee along with several great grandchildren and special friends, Steve Balahtsis, Ronnie Foor, Ronnie Greene, Josh Anderson and Dwayne Beverly.
In addition to his parents, Jeffrey is preceded in death by his son, Jay Underwood; both paternal and maternal grandparents; his sister in-law, Twyla Bolen and his brother in-law, Robert Myers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Joy Stanforth of Heritage Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, the evening before, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family invites all who wish to celebrate Jeffrey's life to gather with them after the funeral service for dinner and refreshments at the Mahan Fine Arts Building, located in the Fayette County Fairgrounds, 213 Fairview Avenue, Washington Court House.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Jeffrey's name be made and mailed out to: The Fayette County Dog Shelter, 1550 Robinson Road, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
