Joshua Helsel Obituary

Joshua Grant Helsel, 23, of Bloomingburg, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, as the result of a fire at his residence.

Joshua was born October 21, 1990, in Columbus, Ohio to Ronald and Lori Sauve Helsel. He was a 2009 graduate of Westland High School and currently employed by Fed Ex Freight while attending Columbus State Community College. A martial arts enthusiast, Joshua shared many other loves and interests including Japanese culture and language, reading, movie-going, and his ambition was to travel, experience the world and live life to the fullest. His unique personality and sense of humor will be remembered by many and missed by all. He was preceded in death by one grandmother, Julia Sauve. Joshua is survived by his parents Ronald and Lori Helsel; brothers, Ronald Nathan (Nina) Helsel and a light in his life, their daughter Cora, Jacob Ryan (Taylar) Helsel; sister, Hannah Lynn Helsel; grandparents, Ronald J. Sauve, Ronald E. Helsel and Susan K. Mann; aunt, Rochelle Sauve; special family members Rebecca and Robert Kershaw, and numerous other wonderful family and friends. Friends may call Friday, January 10, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the WELLMAN-KINZER & GODORHAZY FUNERAL HOME, 509 Washington Ave., Washington C.H., Ohio. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home. Interment to follow with graveside service at 11:45 a.m., Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Fifth Third Bank branch by referencing the Joshua G. Helsel Memorial Fund, with proceeds to benefit his beloved niece Cora's future higher education. I had the amazing privilege of getting to know Josh growing up through middle/high school classes, predominantly in orchestra. Josh was one of the sweetest and most genuine guys I have yet to meet. He was very gifted and had a promising future; a loss that has come to me as the biggest shock and one that came too soon. Josh will deeply be missed; my deepest condolences and sincerest prayers to immedient family and other friends. Praying for God's healing hand to intervene and give peace in abundance in this time of loss and grieving.
