Susan Ellen (Essman) Yuskewich passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 21, 1951, in Washington Court House, Ohio, and quickly developed the sharp intellect, adventuresome spirit, and impeccable sense of style that would end up defining her.
Susan graduated from Ohio Dominican University and went on to teach home economics in Columbus City Schools before devoting her life to those around her—particularly her four children. Trustworthy and kind, quick-witted and discerning, Susan will live on in the hearts of all who she meaningfully affected.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Essman.
She is survived by her husband, Matt; her children, Matthew (Meredith), Sarah (Jacob Thomas), David, and Katherine (Jeffrey Boucher); grandchildren Claire, Elizabeth (Libby), John (Jack), Caroline, William, and Cecilia; her siblings Chris Essman (Lori) and Mark Essman (Ann); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, June 27 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. or 6 p.m and 8 p.m. at the EGAN-RYAN NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 Kenny Road. Susan was a ray of sunshine. I had the pleasure of being the teacher and principal for her 4 incredible children. Susan was a very supportive and proud mother. When I think of Susan, I will remember her sweet helpful nature and will feel profound sadness for her loving family.
Peace and Prayers, Joan Mastell
