Anthony Costa Obituary

Anthony Perry Costa, 75, of Sacramento, CA, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born in Stockton, CA to Anthony "Tony" L. Costa and Mary (Perry) Costa of Robert's Island. Tony grew up in Stockton, and attended St. Mary's High School and Delta College. He served in the National Guard, stationed at Fort Ord. Tony was the co-owner of California Clothier clothing store in Stockton, and later became an independent insurance broker, owning his own firm, Costa & Associates.
An active member of many different organizations, Tony felt strongly about the need to give back to his community. He was a member of Optimist, Romulus, Luso-American Financial, Portuguese Fraternal Society of America, Club Portuguese Stockton California, Sacramento Portuguese Holy Spirit Society, Elk Grove Holy Spirit Society, Lincoln Holy Spirit Society, Our Lady of Fatima #1 of Sacramento, and Our Lady of Fatima Thornton.
Tony will be greatly missed by his wife Patricia of 42 years and his children Bill of Stockton, Christine (Andrew) Trostle of Seattle, Angela (Adrian) Simoes of Fremont, step-sons Doug (Kelsey) Flores of Roseville and Chris (Jennifer) Flores of Burlingame, and grandchildren Mara, Jack, Noah, Landry, Blake, Slade, Tayden and Aurelia; his sisters Mary Pennini and Josephine Bock. Nothing was more important to him than his family, and he was happiest when his children and grandchildren were visiting him. He loved being Portuguese and reveled in a good Alcatra (Portuguese pot roast). Everyone loved Tony. He was full of life, had a smile and laugh that could light up a room, and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Viewing/Rosary Tuesday, April 10th at 6 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1333 58th St. in Sacramento, and a Funeral Mass Wednesday, April 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sacramento, burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, family and friends can make a donation to the Make-a-Wish foundation, or a charity of their choice in memory of Tony. Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home

I am sorry for your loss. I knew Tony from sharing 4years at St Mary's High School. I remember him as a lovely, polite boy who had a light-up-the-room smile. Please accept my condolences.

So sorry to here. Tony was an insurance client of mine at BISYS/Poage Center. He came to the office regularly and was always in a good mood. I last saw Tony at Robert Poage's funeral a few years ago. He was fun to work with.
