Cameron Tyler Ortega, age 5 entered into heaven on Sunday, April 23, 2006 in Sacramento. Cameron was born on May 10, 2000 in Stockton. He was a Kindergarten student at Kohl Open School. Cameron loved playing T-Ball and was playing his second year at Delta Little League. He also enjoyed playing board games, reading, riding his bike and scooter, camping at Lake Tahoe and Santa Cruz and playing with his dog Beux. Cameron will be greatly missed by his parents, Robbie and Lori; his brothers, Christopher and Austin and his sister, Kristen; his grandparents, J.E. Cates, Joe and Shirley Ortega; nana and uncle Richard along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Cameron was preceded in death by his grandma, Helen Cates and his uncle, Tommy Ortega. Visitation will held on Thursday April 27, 2006 from 12:00-7:00 p.m. at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home located at 520 N. Sutter St. and a Memorial Funeral Service will be held on Friday April 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Cameron will be laid to rest at Cherokee Memorial Park located in Lodi. Matt Bryant at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A trust fund has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank acct. 3242302143.

I know this must be a particularly hard day, so I just wanted to say hello, and let you know I was thinking about you. We meet so many children and parents, but all of us who met your wonderful family were deeply affected. We remember you and speak about you often. I hope you are somehow making it through these terrible days, and taking some small comfort in the joy Cameron obviously brought to so many. Cameron was a fun and sweet little boy. He always had the right thing to say to everyone. When you were sad, he would cheer you up. His hair always smelled like peaches. It was very fun being his reading buddy and it was really fun helping him write his "e"s. I will miss him.

I can say first hand I know what you are going thru. I lost my 5yr old son to cancer on January 11th 2006 at UC Davis Hospital. I saw your son's picture and he reminds me so much of mine. I am very sad to hear about Cameron. He is my cousin and I love him very much. I know he is happy and playing in Heaven with other children who have passed.
