David Knickerbocker Obituary

David Knickerbocker
David Knickerbocker passed away suddenly on June 8th. David was born in Stockton and graduated from Stagg High School in 1962. He served his country as a Corporal in the United States National Guard and proudly served his community as a Stockton Police Officer for 33 years. There was nothing David couldn't do. He was a farmer, mechanic, contractor, deer whisperer, human fish finder, and collector/restorer of classic cars. He was our Husband, our Dad our Papa and our best friend.
Of all of his accomplishments, there was nothing that meant more to David than his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jo. Son Michael (Trisha) Knickerbocker, son Joseph Knickerbocker, daughter Angela (Erick) Pilcher and daughter Jodi (Mark) Jones. Grandchildren Scott, Joseph, Erick, Cameron, Julianna, and Logan. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarkston and Arline; step-father, Paul Barnes; sister, Ladonna Chambers; granddaughter, Stephanie Jones.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA. After the services, there will be a reception at the Linden Lions Club.

We would like to give our sincere condolences to the entire Knickerbocker family. Dave was a great person and I was lucky enough to had the opportunity to attend and graduate from Stagg with him, then the many years working on the job with him. Had many fun times in our early days, and he would help with my car projects... God Bless you Dave, and your family..

My deepest condolences to you all. Dave was a wonderful man, and a good friend to Henry. It was because of him that Henry and I even met and started running together many, many years ago. Jo, you were so helpful to us during the Police and Fired Games. Losing Henry last year was hard for me, so I understand so much of what you are all feeling. But I take comfort in knowing that Henry, Dave, and many others are looking down on us and protecting us. Thomas Campbell wrote, "To live in hearts we leave behind is to not die." Sending much love to you all.

David was a role model, an icon, a mans man. I wanted to be like David some day and his inspiration helped me along in life. I did not get to enjoy his presence near enough, but every meeting with him was such a positive time. David, you will always be with me and all those that you touched. Your work is done now, except to watch over all of us who will carry on. Rest now. We love you.
