Faye Melton Obituary
(Twilla) Faye Melton 93, peacefully passed away in her home on Jan. 6, 2021. She resided in Stockton and retired from The Record. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved the role of grandma. She had a spirited personality and made friends everywhere she went. She is survived by 3 daughters, Johnice Layton, Diana Johnson, Michelle Smith, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Ernestine Hayes and Lora Rushing. She is preceded in death by her parents Baxter and Ruth Russell, siblings James Russell and Nellie Caroll and husband Kenneth Melton. Service is Jan. 22, at 11:00 at Casa Bonita Funeral Home. Please make any donations to Hospice of San Joaquin.

It´s been 3 long years and not a day goes by that I don´t think and remember my grandmother. She laugh, her smile, her being nosey and wanting to know all the gossip, her always cheering me on in life, and mostly hearing her say "Hi Darlin". Life will never be the same without her but her legacy will always live on.

She had a big Giving Heart with a smile that would light up any face. She was a loving mother who raised 3 marvelous daughters. Each who inherited her smile and heart. Although she didn't give birth to me, growing up I was at the house so much she called me "My Little Margie". She introduced me to "Banana Puddin' with Nilla Wafers". She will be missed but I also know she had many waiting for her at the Gates of Heaven. Peace and Love to all who read this.
