As an avid Canadiens fan I recall listening to his heroics on the old Marconi radio. He often centered a line with his right wing hero brother Maurice the Rocket. Later on, his winning Stanley cup winner in 71 was the jewel. Such an artistic hockey player. Amen!

I had just found about Mr. Richard. As a Bruins fan. Games between Boston and Montreal were always very intense. But as a true hockey fan. You could never argue about a great player as Mr. Richard. May his soul rest in peace. Bless him.

Mr. Richard was one of the all time greats. I will never forget his play in game 7 of the 1971 finals vs. Chicago, still one of the best NHL games of all time. RIP!

I grew up in Chicago and went to all the Blackhawks home games. Though I was a Hawks fan I never missed a game when the Canadiens came to town. I was a fan and always admired Henri Richard as a great player who loved the game. My condolences go out to Henri's family. I am sure he is skating in heaven with Maurice, Jean Beleveau and many other of the hall of fame Habs. God Bless!

My father would tell stories about his cousins, Maurice and Henri. When my husband and I and daughters visited the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto not long after my Dad had died, I turned the corner to see a life-size poster of Maurice. It was like looking at my Father young again. It really took me aback to see him. The Richard traits are strong ones, the large forehead, eyes, and let's not forget the "Richard nose", as we call it my family. I have it, as my brother also. Happy to be a part of such a wonderful history. I never met him in life, but look forward to seeing him playing on the other side.

To The Family,
As a native of Long Island, NY, I was a NY Islander fan. However, who can ever forget the great teams of the Montreal Canadiens. The "Pocket Rocket" was an asset to the team and that's why he's a Hall of Famer. Please accept my deepest thoughts of sympathy in the passing of Mr. Richard.

Henri was my idol from 1957 until his passing.Any pools I am in come under the pocket rocket banner.I met him once in his tavern and have the signed placemat.I also have an autographed sweater which once hung in a Don Cherrys Restaurant.I had fist fights as a kid over Henri Richard.I sent him a Birthday card on his 80 th through Réjean Houle who took the time to contact me,inform me of Henri s condition and assured me that Mrs.Richard would get my heartfelt card.I cannot imagine other than family that he had a bigger fan.I have sent another sympathy card to Réjean to offer my condolences to the Richards,The Oganization and Mr.Houle himself on the loss of his personel friend.RIP Pocket!!

Missed his greatest years, but saw enough of the "Pocket Rocket" in late '60s & early '70s to appreciate him as a major thorn in the side of my Boston Bruins. Henri played the game right. A great play-maker and a class act, he was one of the very best to ever lace up in the NHL.

Thank you Henrie Richard for your wonderful gift to hockey.... you may have gone but you will never ever be forgotten I watched you near the end of your career when I was young boy and the Montreal Canadiens have never been the same since the late seventies and after you left and the others like Yvonne corn way and Jacque Lemaire Andy LaFleur and Ken Dryden and Larry Robinson and Gila point and serge Savard after they all left Montreal has never been the same...... and nobody will ever play on such a dynasty as you did in your great career along with your brother and all the other greats that played for the greatest hockey team ever on planet Earth

One of my favorite Canadien players. Pound for pound the Pocket Rocket was the toughest player in NHL history. Great memories of him scoring the tying and winning goals against the Blackhawks in the 1971 Stanley Cup final game.

A standout on those storied Canadien teams, who also had one of the coolest nicknames in the history of sports! Henri starred during the era when I began my hockey fandom, and the excellence that was demonstrated by those fabled "Flying Frenchmen" teams was a huge factor in drawing me to the great sport of hockey.

Thanks for the brilliant play and wonderful memories, Henri. Rest in Peace.
