Lula Thomas Obituary
Jul. 7, 1929 - May 23, 2019
Lula was born in Missouri as Lula Mae Schwyhart. Lula passed away at peace with her three sons and family at her side. She was in hospice care at Fairmont Rehabilitation Hospital in Lodi, CA. She was a long time resident of Stockton, CA. Lula was known to some as Dee, her nickname. She was also known as Lula Mae Parker from her first marriage to Antonio Edward Parker. They had three children, Bruce Parker, Richard Parker, and Marc Parker. She deeply loved all three of her boys equally with her unique relationships with them. She remarried, after a divorce, to Jimmy Thomas. He also had three children of his own, David Thomas, Carol Thomas Aycock, and Judy Thomas. She also loved them as her own. Lula had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Marc Jr., Hilary, Shane, Nathan, Davin, Merisa, Alexis, Marc III, Tristen and Mason.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Erin.
Lula spent a great deal of life caring for others who were sick or in need of help. She was an avid reader of books & articles and read her bible regularly. She had few vices but enjoyed gambling on occasion. Always up for a good meal and loved to travel when she could. Her golden years were spent with family and friends. She may have had regrets but she lived her life as she saw fit. "She will be missed by all who loved her."

I am very saddened to learn of Lula passing. I've missed her and was wondering why she hasn't been and to see me. She was one of my most favorite patients I will miss her dearly. I thank Lula for always brightening up my days when she came to the lab.

Ms Dee, you surely will be missed by so many. I will always remember the first day I met you in Stockton California when I took my sister Amy to your house. I lived in Alameda, California at the time some what 45 years ago. Amy had came to see me and I took her to stay with you. Through those many years you were always there at family gatherings and I do not remember to many Christmas's without you being there when I still lived in California before moving to North Carolina. Ron always stood guard over your mushrooms, making sure he got his fair share, LOL as you made the best stuffed mushrooms we had ever eaten. Whenever Ron knew you would be there at a gathering he would ask " Is Dee gonna make her mushrooms." I am sure everyone else remembers them also. You were a dear sweet lady and I will miss you, but I also look forward to the day that we shall meet again. Say hello to my folks and keep watch over us all. Love you my friend forever. <3 P.s. Aunt Dee always had me in stitches. And, my Grandpa George loved her with his whole heart. I have lots of memories of her. Thinking a lady should never have to pump her own gas is a big one. Her sweet Greek friend from California coming back to the Ozarks with her and not being able to sleep because the crickets and the frogs were too loud. Oh how we all laughed. I will always remember her kindness, her smile, and her ability to make others smile. And, I will always remember the way Grandpa lit up when she visited or called. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. You truly have a gem to remember. Hugs....

I don't know where to begin. I remember when I was little, you would come over and spend afternoons with Erin and I giving us otter pops in the summer. After I graduated high school I'd go over to your place and help when I could; we would always go on our McDonald coffee breakfasts. This isn't goodbye, it's I'll see you later. What can I say? Aunt Dee played a huge role in our lives. She was a very special influence on Dale and my lives. Our children were instantly attached to her the minute they met her. She was Dale's aunt, but I couldn't have loved her more if she were my aunt. She WAS my aunt!When we were together or on the phone talking, we would vent our worries to each other knowing they would never be repeated. We would laugh and and discuss world problems until we solved them. I will miss her jokingly scolding when I needed it. She was devoted to her family and helped whenever she could. She was heartbroken when Erin passed to Heaven. Her grandchildren were her treasures in life. Love ❤ you Aunt Dee!!

In your final hours you made us laugh getting in the last word when you told Jr (what do you think I'm senile!). lol You were an amazing Grandmother to Marc and Erin always there for Marc and I when we needed you. You were a huge part of Lil Marc and Alexis life they will love and miss you dearly. Your forever in our hearts I'll truly miss our long conversations we had on the telephone. Please give my baby girl a big hug I miss you both with all my heart. A day we'll never go by without me thinking about you both.
