Mildred "Millie" Eilene Meeks
July 23, 1941 - December 9, 2010
Millie Meeks passed away peacefully following cardiac surgery on Thursday, December 9, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Millie was born on July 23, 1941 in Culp, Arkansas. She moved to the Lodi area at the age of 12. She married Raymond Meeks on April 23, 1958 and they had two daughters: Marcia and Karen. Together they have 6 beloved grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Millie was a sweet, wonderful person and one of the kindest people anyone could ever meet. She was a dedicated, loyal member of Lodi Avenue Baptist Church. She worked for 10 years as a secretary at Calvary Baptist Church in Manteca. She followed that with many years as office manager for several local prominent physicians. Millie was an amazing seamstress, an avid reader, and a fantastic cook. She loved her family and the Lord so much. Millie's family would like to thank the staff at Mercy General Hospital, Sacramento, for the extraordinary care that she received there.
A memorial service to celebrate Millie's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 in the Sanctuary at Lodi Avenue Baptist Church, 2301 W. Lodi Ave., with a meal to follow in the fellowship hall. Donations are preferred to LABC at the aforementioned address. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.
