Resting in the arms of her beloved husband and reunited with her parents, finally at peace in Heaven with her Lord.
Renee Phillips Robbins, age 96 passed away in Stockton, CA on November 26th after a lengthy illness. Born in Watsonville, CA to Bradley and Fannie Phillips on December 14, 1923. Renee lived in Watsonville the first five years of her life before the family moved to Eugene, Oregon where they resided for seven years. The family returned to California and resided in Santa Cruz. Renee graduated from Branciforte Junior High School and Santa Cruz High School In 1941. During World War II Renee worked for 'Navy Supply Annex" in Stockton. She considered a high point in her life, the birth of her children, Philip Bradley and Kathy Diane.
In 1952, she began a career in the travel business as a ticket agent for United Airlines in Fresno, CA. She later was employed as a travel agent by several travel agencies.
Renee became interested in flying and was able to take lessons. She was thrilled to share with family and friends that she had completed a solo flight in a Beechcraft Bonanza Airplane in 1960.
Renee joined the Peace Corp in 1971 where she taught English to preschool children in Sigatoka, Fiji as a volunteer. She described this time in her life as 'a wonderful, heartwarming experience. In 1976 Renee was able to purchase a travel agency in Auburn, CA. She named the Agency "Renee Travel". She enjoyed developing her own agency. She also wrote a travel column in the local newspaper. Renee met and then married the love of her life Curtis Reed Robbins in 1985. They enjoyed many wonderful years together full of family gatherings and travel. Reed passed away August 7, 2016. We would like to express appreciation to Michael Steed, grandson for his loving care and kindness toward Renee during the last four years since Reed's passing. These were very difficult years. Renee is survived by her sister; Betty Appleby of Fresno; children; Philip Steed (Alexis) of Little River; Kathy Finney (Barrett) of Stockton; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four step nieces; Page Robbins, Catherine Robbins, Marsha Robbins and Marya Bell. There will be no Memorial Service in compliance with current Public Health Regulations.

I enjoyed visiting Renee after I became pastor at Central United Methodist Church. She missed her husband Reed and always spoke fondly of her grandson and his children.
