Rex Melton Obituary
May 10, 1931 - Oct. 18, 2018
Rex Lee Melton was born in Springfield, Illinois on May 10, 1931, and passed away on October 18, 2018. Rex moved to California after serving 3 years in Korea as a decorated PFC with the United States Marine Corp. Rex loved hunting, fishing, golfing, RVing and of course talking. Rex retired at the age of 59 from Operating Engineers Local 3. He was a member of Stockton Elks #218 for 30 years. He will truly be missed.
Rex is survived by his wife Shirley Melton (married 62 years) and 3 children; Kathern, Sandra, Rex Jr. and brother Ronnie Lee. 7 grandchildren; Stephanie, Nicholas, Christina, Heather, Stewart Jr., Rex Joseph (RJ), Jennel and 12 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at the Cherokee Memorial Cemetery located at Hwy 99 and Harney Lane in Lodi. Services start at 11am on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
