Ruben Ysiano Jr.

Jan. 25, 1957 - Feb. 3, 2009

Ruben Ysiano Jr., 52, passed away on February 3, 2009 with his family and friends at his side. Born in French Camp, he was a lifelong resident of Stockton attending Franklin High School and University of the Pacific. Ruben's passion for designing and building led him to his chosen occupation in the construction business, where no job was too big or too small because he loved helping others throughout the community. He enjoyed boating and fishing on the Delta and was an enthusiastic Denver Broncos fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends, among those which included the invaluable friendships he made through the Alcoholics Anonymous organization. Ruben will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, giving spirit and loving heart. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.

He leaves behind his devoted parents, Ruben Ysiano, Sr. (Rose) and Petra Repinski (Bill); cherished children, Michael Ysiano Natali, Melissa Esparza, Caleb Ruben Lagier-Ysiano; loving brothers, John Ysiano, Andrew Ysiano, and Felix Ysiano; caring step-sisters, Rita Repinski, Toni Repinski, Becky Repinski and Allison Repinski; dear uncles and aunts, Cencio Contreras (Teresa), Pete Contreras (Teresa), Norbo Contreras (Hope), Gloria Solorzano (Alvin); Loretta Solorzano (George); Angel Contreras, Helen Quintana, Francis Soto; great aunt, Maria Olmedo and a host of beloved family and friends. Ruben is preceded in death by his sister, Christina Ysiano and uncle Rufugio "Spooks" Contreras. Also preceding Ruben in death were two brothers, John Ysiano and Andrew Ysiano, who both died prematurely at birth.

Family and friends are invited to visitation viewing on Monday, February 9, 2009, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Cano Funeral Home, 2164 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., (Charter Way), Stockton, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 6:30 p.m. A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church, 120 W. 5th Street, Stockton. BEFORE I MET RUBEN I WHENT TO SCHOOL WITH HIS DAUGHTER, AND I'VE MET HIS SON... IN MY EYES HE WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST FATHERS I HAVE EVER KNOWN,
HE WAS A GREAT BROTHER AND UNCLE FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN. RUBEN SEEMED LIKE A FAMILY KIND OF GUY HE ALWAYS HAD FAMILY AROUND. HE HAS THOUGHT ME HOW TO BE A FATHER AND A MOTHER, AND SHOWED ME HOW TO HOLD AN AND BE STRONG AS A PERSON.
HE WAS A WONDERFUL MANAGER .THERE WAS NO JOB TOO BIG OR SMALL FOR HIM.HE TUCK PRIDE IN HIS WORK NO MATTER WHAT.

AS QUIET AS IT’S KEPT, RUBEN HAS PLAYED A GREAT PART OF MY LIFE.
HE HAS THOUGHT ME ALLOT ABOUT PARENT.
MY FATHER WAS NEVER IN MY LIFE UP UNTIL THE PAST "FEW" YEARS, AND NOAH'S FATHER IS NO LONGER WITH US, AND RUBIN SEEN HIM COME AND GO.
I REMEMBER TELLING RUBEN HOW HARD IT WAS, HE WOULD SMILE THEN...HE'D SAY…
"IT AIN'T HARD, BUT IT AIN'T EASY...BUT WE ALL GOT TO DO IT!"
I REMEMBER THE DAY I CAME HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL, THE SMILE ON HIS FACE WHEN I PASSED HIM IN THE HALL OF MY APARTMENTS WHEN HE HELD HIS ARMS OUT AND SAID "GIVE ME THAT BABY"
OH BOY!!(THE SMILE)
THEN HE TURNS AND LOOKS TO ME AND SAYS
"HE SMELLS LIKE A BABY"HA'HA
HE LOVED THE SMELL OF A NEW BORN.
"YOU BETTER LET THAT BOY KNOW HE MEANS THE WORLD TO YOU YVONNE, AND NO MATTER WHO OR WHAT COMES YOUR WAY, YOU ALWAYS TAKE YOUR SON FIRST" RUBEN WOULD TELL ME.
(I WOULD ALWAYS TRY TO CORRECT HIM AND SAY)
"RUBEN, IT IS …PUT YOUR SON FIRST"
THEN RUBEN WOULD SAY...
"YVONNE YOU KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING!"
"NO MATTER WHAT YOU MAKE SURE YOU TELL HIM EVERY DAY THAT YOU LOVE HIM AND CHARISH EVERY MOMENT WITH HIM, GIVE HIM THE LOVE THAT NO ONE ELSE CAN MAKE HIM FEEL"
MY SON IS NOW ALMOST THREE YEARS OLD.I HAS KNOWN RUBEN FOR ABOUT FIVE YEARS OR SO, AND WITH IN THOSE YEARS HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN SOME SORT OR A MENTOR.
WE WOULD SHARE STORIES.I LEARNED ALOT FROM RUBEN HE ALWAYS KNEW THE RIGHT WORDS TO SAY.HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND TO ME.A ONE OF A KIND.I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE MET RUBEN.

I AM GOING TO MISS RUBEN.

I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO SAY GOOD BY TO HIM.

I JUST WISH I COULD HAVE SAID THANK YOU ONE MORE TIME…

Amen.

My prayers, thoughts, and sympathy are with Pasty and her family. I can feel your lost, Ruben Jr., was a loving person I shall never forget him as I called him, brother. I loved his laugh, his smile and he loved to eat my cooking, I will miss him, he is with my dear mother in GOD'S home. I have crystal in my pockets one is for Ruben it will remind me of him always, I shall treasure it as I do my mothers crystal. Crystals give me comfort when I think I am alone, I just reach in my pocket hold them in my hand and remember "I am not alone"

Always,
