Packwood, IA

Carolyn L. Casteel, age 69, of Packwood, IA, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A Time for fellowship and a luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

According to family wishes her body has been cremated.

Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 at Praireview United Methodist Church with Pastor Rusty Crabtree officiating. Burial of cremains will be Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

Carloyn L. Casteel was born Oct. 21, 1938 in Middletown, NY to Burt and Stella Bastic Wood. She married Michael B. Casteel on July 8, 1962 in Middletown, NY. He Joined Jesus Jan. 7, 2006.

Carolyn has lived in the Packwood area for the last year. She was a surgical nurse at Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson, MO for 51 years. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by 1 daughter and 1 son and their families: Lucinda Susan (Rob) Meyer of Packwood, IA and Burley Michael Casteel of Charleston, MO; 5 grandchildren; 4 sisters; 2 brothers: Peggy Thorne of Newindsor, NY, Angel Wood of Bloomingburg, NY, Rosemary Townsend of Bloomingburg,NY, Elizabeth Terry of Huntington Beach, CA, Michael Wood of Bloomingburg, NY and Robert Wood of Moravia, NY. Carolyn was preceded by her parents; husband; 1 brother John Thorne; and 1 sister Robin Wood.
