Craig Currier Obituary

Formerly of Unionville, NY

Craig Currier, of Westminster, CO, formerly of Unionville, died on March 29, 2008, after a five-year battle with cancer. He was 57 years old.

Born on January 5, 1951, in Unionville, Craig was the son of the late Charles and Phyllis Currier. He was a 1969 graduate of Minisink Valley High School, a graduate of Grahm Junior College in Boston, MA, and retired after a 20-year career with American Izuzu.

Craig loved music, books, sports and the outdoors. He was a kind and gentle person who had a great sense of fun and good nature.

He is survived by his wife, Donna in Colorado; his sister, Susan and her husband, Dave Johnson of Boynton Beach, FL; niece, Jennifer Lyndsey and her husband, Chris of Haverhill, FL, and their children Lea Elizabeth and Connor; nephew, Chad Donner of California; stepdaughter, Katherine Gasparich and her husband, David and their two children, Winter and Orion, of New York City. He also leaves behind many friends from around the United States who share fond memories of Craig.

He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and his good friend and cousin, Dennis Horler.

A memorial service for Craig was privately held in Colorado and his memory was honored with the following Hopi Prayer of the Soul's Graduation:

"Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there. I did not die."

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, c/o Memorial Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I was so saddened to hear of Craig's passing. He was a wonderful person. We had good times at Minisink... I'm sure that he and Don (Berzansky) are up in heaven scheming up some good pranks! Godspeed to his family,

There are special people I've known in my lifetime who I will keep in my heart forever. Craig was one of those people. I'm sad he's no longer with us, but grateful he's no longer suffering and is in a better place. My deepest sympathy to all who loved him.
