Dean Stansfield Obituary

Dean Starr Stansfield of Slate Hill, died early Monday morning, May 8, 2006 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 61.

The son of the late Duane and Mildred Chemin Stansfield, he was born on April 12, 1945 in New York, N.Y.

Dean was a reproducer of old photos from their original glass negatives. An avid collector of antique post cards, especially those depicting the Adirondack region, he was also an antique post card dealer.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy at home and his sons, Craig Stansfield and his wife Beth and their daughter, Grace of Rock Island, Illinois and Wayne Stansfield at home. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Glenn Gertsen and his wife, Florence and their children, Erik and Heidi of Westtown.

Family and friends may visit from 10-11a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Church at Ridgebury with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Theda Wolfe will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220 or to the American Diabetes Association, 200 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY 10591.

Dear Nancy and family,



Condolences for your loss and thank you to Dean and Nancy for lifelong memories of Camp Solitude, Lake Placid and the beautiful Chris Craft Dean so loved to pilot around the lake where he pointed out many historic camps. The Lake Placid book will be a constant reminder of his life.
