Fabio Forni Obituary
Mr. Forni worked as a boiler maker with Local 5 in New York where he retired as a welder in 1986 after 30 years of service. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and V.F.W. Post #1535 in Montgomery, N.Y., and a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Newport News, Va.
Mr. Forni is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marilyn Forni of Newport News; his two children, Fabio L. Forni and Laurie Shaw, both of Newport News; a brother, George Forni and wife, Carol of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Jamie Shaw of Newport News, and David Shaw and wife, Allison of Pine Bush; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Shaw, of Pine Bush. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the U.S., and many cousins in Italy.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, at Weymouth Funeral Home, 12746 Nettles Dr., Newport News, VA 12606.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 4, at St. Jerome Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Majewski. Interment with military honors will follow in Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Va.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Town USA, PO Box7000, Boys Town, NE 68010.

In My Pocket

Laurie,David,and Alyson. So sorry for your loss. I would have liked to be there but we could not get a last minute flight out. Give Mom my condolences. Before he was part of your lives, Uncle Fabio was part of my fondest childhood memories. He was a great Dad, Grandfather, Husband and God Father and will be sorely missed.
