John Cossa Obituary

John A. Cossa Sr., a longtime resident of the area, entered into rest Monday, November 27, 2006 at home. He was 83 years old.

The son of Ralph and Nellie DeVita Cossa, he was born December 2, 1922 in the Bronx, N.Y. He was the widower of the late Catherine F. Cossa.

He was the owner of Cossa Fuels. He was a World War II Army Veteran and he was also a Little League coach.

Survivors include two sons, John A. Cossa Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Walden and Edward R. Cossa and his wife, Mary Jane of Walden; one sister, Vera Wanderling of Washingtonville; seven grandchildren; one great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Marion Cossa.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Funeral home. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Orange.

Arrangements were made by the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc.
