Josephine Williamson Obituary

Formerly of Montgomery, NY

Josephine Kathryn (Post) Williamson, 71, of Mt. Carmel & formerly of Montgomery, NY, died January 10, 2009.

Josephine was born February 20, 1937 in Vails Gate, NY. She was the oldest of three children. She was the widow of Raymond Williamson.

In 1953, she met and married Clement Donald Srofe, a serviceman stationed at Stewart Army subpost at West Point. Together they traveled the world, raising seven children. Josie survived Clement and later married Raymond Williamson. Upon moving to Clermont County, Ohio, she taught at Head Start and helped establish the Clermont Authority on Rural Transportation. Later, she went on to manage a large apartment complex in Batavia, OH.

At the age of 71, Josie peacefully faced our Creator in the early hours of Saturday. Josie will always be remembered by all to be sociable, witty and generous. Josie is deeply missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Donna (Robert) Kadilis of San Antonio, Texas, Patty (John) Marron of Montgomery, NY, Kathy (Robert) Brulport of Batavia, Ohio, Wendy (Doug) Key of Batavia, Ohio, Donald (Mary) Srofe of Montgomery, NY, Doug (Cathy) Srofe of Bethel, OH, and Daryl (the late Lisa) Srofe of Mount Carmel, OH. She is also survived by a dear sister, Marion McCue of New York, NY; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two nephews.

Family will receive friends Thursday, January 15, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. (with service to follow) at the Moore Family Funeral Home, 6708 Main Street, Newtown, Ohio. Interment following at Batavia Union Cemetery, Batavia, OH.
