Marcelina Lynn Gonzalez

Marcelina Lynn Gonzalez, a lifetime resident of Middletown, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 9, 2005, at home. She was 31.

The daughter of Nelson Gonzalez and Janet Jewis, she was born December 29, 1973 in Middletown, N.Y.

Marcelina worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Middletown.

A family statement reads: "Marcelina was one of a kind. She was very spontaneous. Marcelina was a pretty woman with a beautiful laugh."

She is survived by her father, Nelson Gonzalez, and mother, Janet Jewis, of Port Jervis; three sons: Ryan Miller of Middletown, William "Billy" Truex of Bullville and Nicholas Chapman of Middletown; one brother, Mark Jewis and his companion, Tina Smith, of Pine Bush; one niece, Crystal Jewis; and two nephews, Mark Jewis, Jr. and Dylan Matthew Jewis. Marcelina is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Evelyn Godfrey of Middletown; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call on Monday, September 12, 2005 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, N.Y.

A Funeral Service in Remembrance of Marcelina will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Susan Wonderland officiating.

Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial of the cremains will be in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery at a later date.
