Marie Butta Obituary
Marie Butta of Cornwall, formerly of the Bronx, passes away suddenly on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus. She was 65.
Daughter of the late Marie Serville, she was born on August 15, 1942 in Buffalo, NY. She married Robert Butta on June 14, 1964 in Queens, NY, who survives at home.
"Our mom touched many lives with her smile and laughter. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, taking in the sun and swimming. She will be missed by all."
In addition to her loving husband of 44 years, she is survived by her loving children, Dominick Butta and his wife, Anita of Mahopac, Robert Butta Jr. and his wife, Rosalie of New Windsor; grandchildren: Christopher and Nicholas Butta of New Windsor, and Victoria Butta of Mahopac.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 8, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh, with Father John Vondras officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.

I have known Marie for many years from Idlewild Creek. We swam together & played Bingo dozens of times. It's so hard to believe that God has plucked her from our garden so quickly but he obviously has better plans for her now. She has left a void in so many hearts & her presence, laughter, smile & unique personality will be missed by many. She was a star on earth & now she is a shining star in heaven. My heart, thoughts & prayers go out to Marie's family. Stay strong & stick together. Remember, if God has brought it to you then He will see you through it.
