Mary Bargisen Obituary

Mary A. Bargisen, a longtime area resident, died January 2, 2007 at Campbell Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 82.

The daughter of Charles Sendall and Genevieve Schmidt Sendall, she was born January 19, 1924 in Cornwall, N.Y. She was the widow of Carl Bargisen Jr., who predeceased her on January 2, 2000.

Mary was a retired Teacher at Vails Gate Elementary School. A graduate of the University of New Paltz, she held memberships with the New Windsor American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, where she was also a past President; Loyal Order of the Moose; Quilters of Hudson Highlands; New Windsor Senior Citizens; Cornwall Senior Citizens; the Crewman's Association of the U.S.S. Alabama, and she also volunteered at Castle Point V.A.M.C.

Survivors include a son, Carl Bargisen III of New Windsor; a daughter, Dona Corso and her husband, Joe of Bonita Springs, Fla.; sister, Carolyn Strassburg of Gansvoort, N.Y., and two grandchildren, Stephan Peckham and Melissa Peckham.

She was further predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Boice and Genevieve Beirne.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James F. Lulves Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Ave. A, Cornwall-On-Hudson, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cemetery of the Highlands, Highland Mills, N.Y.

Donations in Mary's name may be made to Castle Point VAMC, PO Box 100, Castle Point, NY 12511.

Arrangements are under the direction of the James F. Lulves Funeral Home, Inc.
