Mary Kubenik, 86 of Rock Tavern, New York, passed away on December 10, 2020. Mary was born in Zilina, Slovakia on March 13, 1924 to Stefan and Anna (Labaj) Bosan.
Mary was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Michael Kubenik. Together Mary and Mike raised their four children in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx. Where she dedicated her life to her family, including helping her husband run the family business, Standard Wire Works. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who will be dearly missed by her family.
She was a parishioner of St. John Nepomucene of New York City, Holy Name in the Bronx and Assumption Church in Maybrook. Mary loved music, bowling, reading, bird watching, swimming, gardening, bee-keeping, foraging mushrooms, cooking and especially baking. Everyone knew her for her cookies.
Mary is survived by her children: Ann Marie D'Agostino, Michael Kubenik and his wife Kelly, Helen and her husband Philip Livoti and Jane Kubenik; as well as her grandchildren: Paul, Mark, Danielle, and husband Bekin, Kristen, Karen and husband Austin, Melanie and husband Robert, Tiffany, Michael, Devon and Irene; her great grandchildren: Vincent, Margot and Ryan. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Kubenic; in-laws, Henry and Anna Kubenik, Marta Gabor and Vera Kubenik. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she dearly loved. She will be terribly missed.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 12 noon at Assumption Church, 211 Homestead Avenue, Maybrook, NY. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 2 Fr. Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, NY.
