Michael Mascia Obituary
Michael A. Mascia, a five-year area resident, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2008 at his home. He was 22.
The son of Kevin F. Walter and Susan Callaghan Walter, he was born on April 29, 1986 in Sumter, South Carolina. He was a baker for Wal-Mart in Monroe.
A family statement reads: "Michael was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was especially known for his beautiful smile and his happy, easy-going personality. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors at Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties and the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center for taking care of Michael and loving him as if he was their own son."
Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Susan Walter of Warwick; brother, Jesse Walter of Warwick; sisters, Kelly A. Mascia and her fiance, Mike of Maybrook and Nicole R. Walter of Warwick; his nephew, Mikey and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, September 18, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Baron Ashfield officiating. Interment will follow in Seamanville Cemetery in Monroe.
