Miriam Machado Obituary
Mrs. Miriam Machado of Port Jervis, NY, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at Bon Secours Community Hospital. She was 75.
She was born February 11, 1933 in Puerto Rico. Earlier in life she was married to Rafael Machado.
A family statement reads: "She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. It was her inner strength that made our family strong."
Survivors include her mother, Ada Fuentes of Port Jervis; son, Dito Machado and his wife, Tina of Port Jervis; two daughters, Ada Guadalupe and her husband, John of Tampa, FL, and Marguerite Machado and her fiancé, Rasoul Speight of Port Jervis; sister-in-law, Margaret Quevedo of Port Jervis; eight grandchildren: Patricia, Luis, Yolanda, Mia, Preston, Landon, Ryder and Paris; five great-grandchildren: Athena, Quintin, Armando, Ryan and Jalissa; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Quevedo.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY, on Friday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Funeral services will follow on Friday, October 31, at 12 noon in the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph Iannone officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assn., 419 E. Main St., Suite 202, Middletown, NY 10940.

Tia was always a special person in my life. She babysat me for many years, cooked my favorite meals and was always happy to see me when I visited from wherever I was living. She had a kind spirit and loved being around family. I will miss her voice and her smile.
