Olav Langeland Obituary
Olav Langeland of Parksville passed away on December 29, 2009 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 70.
He was the son of the late Astrid and Otto Langeland, born on May 16, 1939 in Norway.
A family statement reads: "He was a loving father and grandfather; he will be sorely missed by all that knew him. When Olav wasn't surrounded by his loved ones, he worked as a Carpenter. This is when he found himself to be a true craftsman, he built his home from the ground up. Olav was a member of the Masonic Norseman Lodge in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn."
Olav leaves behind his loving wife, Olivia Hansen Langeland of Norway; three sons: Leif Harry Langeland of Norway, Arne Otto Langeland and his wife, Lisa of Woodbourne, and Tor Olav Langeland of Parksville; one daughter, Anita Louise Langeland of Chicago; ten grandchildren: Crystal Holden of South Carolina, Oliviann, and Frankolav Langeland both of Norway, Dmitry Bolsoni of Chicago, Carl, Olav, Arne Peterson-Langeland, Megan, Abigail, and Victoria Langeland all of Woodbourne; one great-grandchild, Christian Holden of South Carolina; one sister, Hildur L. Vallespir Normington and her husband, Donald of Parkridge, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made in his name to any Parkinson's Disease Organization of one's choice.

Olie was a friendly face, an easy guest, a companion for a cup of coffee or two. Never a harsh word was heard from his mouth. Although we were weekenders in Parksville, Olie kept us up to date on the weather, and always had a watchful eye on our place. He loved his wood stove, and recently told me he started to cook on the wood stove. Olie will be missed.

The memories I have of my sweet pop "grandpa" will forever be cherished. I love and miss you more than you will ever know. But I know that one day we will meet again. Rest in peace pop.
