So sorry to get this news. But I'm glad I got to see Augie and son at the Peace Corps anniversary a couple of years ago. My favorite memory of Augie was when we were still in training in Mexico. Augie and
Tony Comunale had been the first in our group to be sent out to a small Mexican town to see if they could survive living on their own. Augie's description of a woman in the market stirring a cauldron of pig organs in a brine of who-knows-what still makes me howl with laughter. I'll miss him.

Joan, Peter and Charles,
I am at a loss, a total loss for words to describe how I feel; there are no words that adequately embrace the enormity of your loss. I don't know how young Augie was when he first crossed my radar as Len's best friend, but I'd venture he's been a part of our family for nearly 50 years. They don't come any finer--what a treasure. Joan, it may not offer any solace now, but in time perhaps you will be comforted that you were blessed to have spent many years with as beautiful and kind a partner as Bob Augello. I am always here to talk, whenever you may want to.

Auggie was one of the truly good guys, one of the best that the Dartmouth Class of '71 had to offer. I fondly remember seeing Auggie and his lovely wife several years ago at Frank Anton's annual spring party. So sad that will not happen again. My deepest condolences to all his family. The Dartmouth family has lost a friend and classmate. You have lost much more.

Joanie and sons...I am so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I met Auggie in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and we carried our friendship for 35 years. He truly had a gentle wisdom about him and he helped me many times to ground myself over the years. We called him "Auggie Doggie". When his father came to Guatemala to visit they were "Auggie Doggie and Doggie Daddy". I admired Bob and His father traveling throughout Guatemala on chicken busses like the locals. I will always think of Bob looking over me with his gentle wisdom offering his guidance.

When I met Augie in 1968 he was already a kind, large hearted man so I can only imagine the great contributions he has made since then. He had a great sense of humor and I loved sharing a good laugh with him. I am sorry for your loss.

Dear Joana and Family;
I am very shocked to hear of Bob's passing. When I was working at RECAP many yrs ago you were one of the nicest people and of course Bob too, that crossed my path as I journeyed toward self sufficiency. I finished out my yrs at RECAP in 2003 retiring to AZ, and now work in a Daycare and Learning Center p/t and love it .You worked with Marge Latzko for a while if I remember correctly.
I remember when your children came along.
It is very hard to believe that a Good
Man as Bob has been taken from his Family, Friends and Acquaintances.
May you find comfort knowing I care and hope the coming days will be easier to bear knowing others are Praying for you and your Family.
With Love and Deepest Sympathy

Joanie and family - I have had you all in my thoughts and prayers since I learned that Bob was ill. Every year at Thanksgiving I remember with such fondness and chuckles (!) the year that Bob and his parents and extended family welcomed me to Thanksgiving dinner when I had no place to go. (MY first Italian Thanksgiving...) The making of gravy evokes smiles every year. My love and support are going out to you, Joanie. Your Bob was one of the good guys and he will be missed.

Mrs Augello and family:
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this most difficult time. I only knew Bob professionally through his numerous Freedom of Information Requests at City Hall. He was always willing to talk about the topics of the day, and on more than one occassion we engaged in good, wholesome discussions. He was a man to admire, a man to emulate and a man who had passion within. He made his mark not only on Middletown, but on this County and upon the lives of many of us. May he rest in peace, and may your family know no more sorrow.

My deepest sympathies to Joan, the boys and the entire family. Bob was a wonderful person from so many perspectives--friend, classmate, family man and environmentalist. I will cherish my many wonderful memories of him starting from the day we first met in Woodward Hall during Freshman Week in September of 1967.
Warmly,
Michael Maynard

Joanie, Peter & Charles,
We are so sorry for your loss. I feel like I have known your family most of my life, Bob was by far one of the nicest people we have ever known and I will especially miss his smile & kind words whenever he came into Gilman's. Always there to help, he was very good to us when we needed his legal assistance & of course went above & beyond. He alway's made sure to inquire about Meaghan & shared memories about when she was the little girl who lived across the street, watching her grow & making him laugh. Our heart goes out to you & all of your family during this difficult time.
With all our love & sympathy,
Lori, Dave & Meaghan
