Roy Wright Obituary

Roy J. Wright, Jr. of Forestburgh, an operating engineer at the Monticello Raceway, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 55.

The son of the late Roy J. Wright, Sr. and Delores Drowns Wright, he was born October 29, 1951 in Monticello.

Roy was a member of the Monticello Elks Lodge #1544, the Moose Lodge in Quakertown, Pa. and the Operating Engineers, Local Union #825 in Springfield, N.J.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Smith Wright, at home; a son, Roy J. Wright III of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Linda Robinson of Brasington, Fla.; two brothers, Wayne Wright and his wife, Debbie of Monticello and Kenneth Wright of Indiana; six stepchildren: Richard Hallock, Roseann Bensley, Timothy Hallock, Perry Hallock, Doreen Marinelli and Laurie Hallock; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Upper Delaware Valley Cancer Center, 113 Pocono Drive, Milford, PA 18337 or to the family would be appreciated.
