Wilma Bates Obituary

Wilma M. Bates, a lifelong resident of Highland Falls, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall, N.Y. She was 65.

Daughter of the late Russell Wilson and Gertrude Van Duzer Wilson, she was born in Cornwall on August 12, 1941.

Wilma is survived by her husband Leonard W. Bates at home; son, Leonard R. Bates and wife Melinda of Highland Falls; brother, Russell Wilson of the state of Connecticut; sister, Ida Jones of New Windsor; two grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Bates; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Dawn Marie Bates.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 15 from 7-9 p.m. at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls.

The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 16 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Snavely officiating.

Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Highland Falls.
