My family and I want Lisa and the girls to know our hearts are breaking along with theirs. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Brian was a special friend as well as a great partner at work. I will miss his boundless enthusiasm, his big infectious smile, his bone-crushing handshake, and his great love for helping people. He was truly a superman among firemen. There is no way to ever replace a Brian Smalley.

I had the pleasure of knowing Brian for the past ten years. His professionalism, dedication and work ethic was always present. As a former Council Member and Mayor we like to be proud of our Public Safety Departments as well as all City employees. In the case of Brian, he made it easy.

To all who knew him and his family and extended family in the Fire Department, you have my heartfelt thoughts at this time. God bless Brian and all of you for what you have dome and who you are.

I feel a great loss with your passing, Brian..as I did with the passing of your Dad a short time ago. I met Jim and worked with him in the late 70's and met you a short time later. I felt a strong connection to both of you. As I met both of you within a short time, you are both gone from my life within a short time. You both will be greatly missed.

A joyful sound was heard when Brian returned home to Heaven. Greeted by the Good Lord and all his loved ones, don't you know it was a wonderful reunion.
I was blessed to have met Brian and his lovely wife once at the annual Firemans Ball.
There are some folks whose tender and gentle love leave a mark on your heart, forever.
You have left a mark on mine.
Mrs. Smalley, God is holding you and your dear family in the Palm of His Hand......and you are in my prayers.
Sincerely,
MaryAnn Sibert

Words cannot express the sadness and loss our family is feeling with the loss of Brian, following so soon after the passing of his father Jim and grandfather Francis. Brian was too young, and he will be missed more than he ever knew. We all loved him so.

Brian was a wonderful cousin, that unfortunately we didn't get to see enough of. The times we did we will always remember. He had a great smile and a kind way about him. He loved his family very much.
