PASTOR BARRY GUSTAVE ULLOTH, M.P.H.

He served as pastor of the Anderson Seventh-day Adventist Church for more than 11 years until his retirement in 2007, and he gave more than 40 years to church ministry in four states.

He is survived by his wife Jane Ellen Meade Ulloth, their three children and two grandchildren and four siblings. His eldest son Barry Gus [Gustave] Ulloth, II, works for the city of Napa in its information technology area and is married to Rhonda White-Ulloth. He held the Bachelor of Arts (1966) degree from Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, Tennessee, and the Master of Public Health (1980) from Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, California. I never knew Barry Ulloth, but I see the same empathy and kindness in his son Joel, the neurosurgeon whose bright mind and skilled hands will allow me to enjoy the physical activities, hopes and goals to which I look forward. Ironically, Barry Ulloth and both share the same first name and age. Were I to have met him I would first thank him for raising such a fine son. My condolences to all the family at this sad time.

The memories of Flether Acadamy includes Barry and his family. What a blessing. Our 50th alumni was meant to be. He came across the US to be with his classmates and friends. So thankful for our time at Rose's. Looking forward to Heaven. "What A Day That Will Be."

I am in shock over his death. When I talk with Barry last, he thought they got all of it. I am deeply sadden by his death. We have truly lost a man of God. May God comfort your family! Del Dunavant

Barry to me... The pastor who frequently encouraged me and prayed with me when I was a pastoral intern. The friend who extended affection consistently with action. The joker whose dry humor brought many smiles. The humble guy -- though more talented than he knew -- who I miss, but look forward to seeing again.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ulloth, but I know the kind of man he was, because his goodness is reflected in my friend, his eldest son Gus, who carries his name. He leaves a legacy of which he and his family can be proud.

Barry saw me as something more than "just the church janitor" and encouraged me to apply for the Secretary job. I have been the Secretary since 2001. Thank you, Barry, for your faith in me.
