Charlie, for 26 years we shared in the parenting of our daughter Charlie Burns, our son Brandon Jackson and our wonderful three grandchildren. I Chose the candle to symbol a light to guide the way for them, that they may not loose site of the wisdom and love that you gave them. And during those thoughful moments of you they will feel your warmth from the glow.
Your friend always,

Charlie was my step dad for 8 years. When he met my mom we lived on a broken down school bus, he took us from the ghetto to the gucci store, literally. He was the only normalcy and stability I ever had in my life, if it wasnt for the years I spent with him as the main influence in my life theres no telling what a mess I would be. I remember my mom always yelling at me telling me wait till your father gets home youre gonna get a whippin! he knew my mom was crazy and he would take me in the room and say make it sound good kiddo! He'd whip the hell out of the bed and Id scream, then Id rub my eyes and make them all red so it looked like I was crying. Another thing I remember is my mom would ground me to my room and take everything out of it and bout every other day when charlie came home from work he would quietly tap on my window and slip me the next book in the Pippi Longstockings or the Nancy Drew series and smile at me. I have many great memories of Charlie and his parents, they gave me a chance at life, he was a wonderful man and the world is now missing a great link, but now I believe he is with all of us in spirit watching over us, not wanting us to suffer but to celebrate life, to love one another and to make him proud...Thanks charlie for being my rock in a very unstable tumultuous childhood, you saved me and I will forever be grateful for the time I spent with you
