Dallas Lamb

Washington, DC

Dallas Clair Lamb, 85, died Monday at his residence at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, DC. Born on December 23, 1930 in Morenci, Michigan, the son of Rose and Lawrence Lamb.

Dallas made a name for himself as a three- sport athlete at Wauseon High School in Ohio lettering all four years in basketball, football and track. He was the team captain on his basketball team and received statewide honors for Football and Track.

Dallas served in the Army and fought in the Korean War working on an observation post along the Yalu river in Northern Korea.

In recent years, Dallas made two trips to Korea as part of a delegation celebrating the 60-year anniversary of the Korean War.

In 1952 he played football for the San Francisco Presidio team and starred in a game in Chico where he would meet his wife Pearl.

Dallas was married to Pearl Lamb, a teacher at Buckeye Elementary in Redding, California - where they lived until 1995. Worked as a master plasterer well into his 77th year.

Dallas was a long time member of the Redding Moose Lodge and enjoyed many years of golfing at Lake Redding Golf Course and Allen's Golf Course. In the late 60's Mr. Lamb coached the Redding Colts youth football team.

Dallas loved golf, fishing and watching Ohio State football with his sons and grandchildren.

Dallas is survived by his three sons, Bruce, Brian and Todd Dallas Lamb and seven grandchildren, Wendi Nall, Tami Thomas and James Webster; Dallas Todd; Megan Marie Lamb, Hayden Lamb and Hudson Lamb.

To know Dallas Lamb was to know a friend.Notwithstanding the years and miles that separated us in our elderly years our friendship remained strong with a love some may find difficult to comprehend. But not to us who are convinced we will meet again on the other side of life ready to smile and laugh as we reminiscence the good old days of youth. See you soon my friend.

My Uncle Wayne and my dad Dean Snyder played football at wauseon High school. That is my home town too.Back in the 70's I worked for Clay Newman in redding at the Tropics.Dallas was astounded when i told him Iwas from wauseon and who my relatives were. We talked often and I always loved his stories about the old days. He was a great guy that I am proud to say I knew
