May 23, 1943 - October 16, 2011
Diane Louise Gazzigli passed peacefully in her sleep at home after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. There will be a small gathering of family, close friends and neighbors at her residence Saturday, October 22nd from 1pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Haven Humane Society on her behalf.
Born Diane Louise Verna to Louis and Virginia Verna, she is survived by two brothers in Southern California Ron and Glenn Verna along with their families. She will also be missed by her three sons: Tony, Mark and Mike Gazzigli. Diane has five grandchildren here in Redding named Brandon, Christopher, Nicholas, Gzianna and Alexandria... all with her same last name.
Diane's ex-husband and father of her children Ralph "Sonny" Gazzigli predeceased her by some two decades. Sonny was the brother of local attorney Joe Gazzigli.
Other than a few neighbors who she swore used her street as a dragstip (LOL) - most everyone who knew her loved and appreciated her for her honesty and generosity. Although she spent most of her working career behind a desk in Southern California, she spent the last 15 years of her "semi-retirement" providing home health support services to numerous families here in Shasta County. She was well known among her employers and clients as being a loving caring person who always gave more than given. Aside from her family, her passions were her yard and her animals. Her loving kindness has touched many of us- we will strive to pass on her ability to express unconditional love. Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend... she will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

The family wishes to thank all who helped take care of our beloved mother in her final weeks on this earth. Thank you to Dr. Figueroa and his staff and also to Hospice for taking such good care of our mom. We will never forget your kindness.

Dear Tony, Mark, Mike, Kris, Michelle as well as Bramdon, Chirstopher, Nicholas, Gzianna and Alexandria -- It was a pleasure to know your Mom and Grandmother. She could make me laugh and want to cry all in the same conversation. I say that with great warmth and memories of long chats as we got to know each other far too late in our lives. Both Joe and I will miss her and we grieve with you as you consider your loss. Through each of you her spirit lives on. That spirit will envelope each of you with her love and guide you as you continue your journey on this earth. She wanted only the best for each of you and for her, the best was grounded in the truth of who each of you are today, tomorrow and always -- stay true to yourself. She would want each of you to laugh and love often, remain united as a family, and always know that through the good and bad times you were loved beyond measure.
