Don Eichman, 79, passed away on July 10, 2012 at his home in Belfair, Washington. He was born, May 19, 1933 in Wiley, Colorado. He was the fourth child of immigrant Russian Volga German parents, Gottfried "Fred" and Amelia Kahl "Molly" Eichman. Don grew up in Wiley, CO; Denver, CO; Fresno, CA; Torrance, CA.

Don was drafted into the US Army, March 17, 1953 during Korean War, served as a Combat Construction Specialist, Ft Lewis, WA and discharged March 16, 1955. He received the National Defense Service Medal. After service, he was employed by Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Los Angeles, CA and Grace Chemical, Torrance, CA where he retired.

He relocated to Napa for a few years and eventually to Anderson, CA for remainder of his life. He was employed part-time with the US Forest Service, Shasta County, CA. Don was called "Uncle Don" by all his nieces and nephews.

He was a most beloved, kind, generous man all his life. He never married but his legacy still lives on in the memories of our hearts and all those lives he touched. "Gott in Himmel" (God in Heaven).

Don was preceded in death by parents Fred and Molly Eichman, Torrance, CA; by brothers Albert Eichman, Santa Rosa, CA; Don Eichman, Belfair, WA; Robert Eichman, Napa, CA; by sister Sally Ball, Napa, CA and survived by sister Alice Nigro, Ontario, CA. Tom is survived by nephews David Bailey Nigro, Shasta Lake, CA; Dan Nigro, Ontario, CA; by nieces Janet Mendoza, Ontario, CA; Jacki Richardson, Upland, CA. Nieces Cassandra Webster, Las Vegas, NV; Kenna Hayden, Kennet, MO; Jeff Ball, Sand Point, ID; Rebecca Ball, Napa CA; Julie Reeder-Ball, Kuna, ID., nephew Jerry Eichman, Anderson, CA; nieces Jane Eichman, Judy Eichman, Jill Eichman, Santa Rosa, CA; Jody Kooken, Rhonert Park, CA; nephew Eric Eichman Eaton, CO and niece Debra Eichman Austin, TX. and his grandnephews and grandnieces and other Volga German relatives.

He will receive a Military funeral and be interned at Northern California Veterans Cemetery, 11800 Gas Point Rd, IGO,CA. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at 9:30 am.
