Edna A. Johnson died on January 25th at the age of 97 1/2. She was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated from Balboa High School in 1936.
She married Albert (Bud) Johnson in 1939 and together they raised three children.
They had a second home at Black Point where they enjoyed boating, fishing and duck hunting on San Pablo Bay.
In 1964 they moved from the city to Novato. Edna continued to work at Glidden Paint Co. in San Francisco until she lost Bud to cancer. Two years later in 1978 she and her mother moved to Cottonwood.
Edna was a long time volunteer with the Shasta Brown Bag program and RSVP. She was also a board member and secretary for South Shasta Seniors. In 1994 she was named Cottonwood Senior of the Year and RSVP Senior of the Year in 1996.
One of her hobbies was crocheting gifts for her family while watching her favorite team the S.F. Giants.
We were blessed to call her Mom, Nana, Grandma and Grammie.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bud and her sister Pat.
She is survived by her children, Bill, Joan, Lois, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and their spouses.
Edna will be laid to rest beside her husband in Novato.
