Edwin Phillips Obituary

Edwin Charles Phillips

Redding, CA

Edwin Charles Phillips age 67 from Redding, CA, passed away Aug 18, 2016. Son of Edwin & Ruth Phillips born in San Mateo, CA. on Feb 22, 1949. Ed was loved and will be greatly missed by his children; son, Ed Phillips and daughter Chantell Gibbins, son-in-law Brian Gibbins, daughter in-law Michelle Phillips and grandchildren Brandon & Ashley Phillips, Jessica & Jacob Gibbins, as well as his beloved dog Jezebelle.

Eddie also known as "Fast Eddie." He worked most of his life hanging drywall for the Carpenter's Union. He worked on many high rise buildings throughout the Bay Area. In his later years he opened his own business restoring hot rods and motorcycles under "Eddies Rod & Kustoms" in Redding, California. A venture he truly enjoyed as much as his Harley Davidson and spending time with family and friends. Often times you would find him in his shop strumming away on his guitar where he would greet you with a smile and joke.

Our Father and Grandfather was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He touched many lives in his every day conversations with his colorful stories, jokes and off the cuff comments; his helping hand; and his natural instinct of being the protector to all that are close and dear to him. Our Father and Grandfather lived his life to the fullest, always thankful and grateful to be alive each and every day. He enjoyed life, loved his family, friends and the tight community of friends that he worked and lived beside every day at his shop on Bechelli Lane.

Please join us in a Celebration of Life for Ed Phillips on September 3rd, 1:00 pm at Don's Sandwich Shop (3034 Bechelli Ln., Redding, CA).

I remember when you came into our family, I was fifteen years old. So many special memories...lots of laughter and joy watching the kids grow up. So happy I got to see and talk with you just a couple of weeks ago. You seemed happy with the music and I was happy for you. I was hoping to hear the gospel song you wrote. Maybe someday...My prayers and thoughts are with Family and Friends and your four legged Baby. God Speed Eddie, your with the Angels now, continue to do all goods things as you did here on earth. You touched so many lives. Now spread your wings and ride your Harley, wherever your dreams may take you, your at peace now. Such a tragic loss. MANY PRAYERS will continue to BLESS YOU...

Eddie, i will miss your smiling face every morning. I enjoyed our talks about the spiritual world and about our love and connection with the animals. I know that you will still be watching over all of us so thank you for that. I was so blessed to have known you. Until we meet again my friend.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing your father/grandfather. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you, his loved ones during this difficult time. He has crossed to another shore and we are but a breath behind. I wish you peace and comfort in your cherished memories.
