Evan was a wonderful, caring little boy in my class at Manzanita. He was the type of person/student teachers, including myself, cherish and never forget.

I was fortunate enough to have worked with Evan at Beale AFB Fire Department. We had a lot of good times together. Most of which I wont be putting on the internet. He was a great fireman and an even better friend. I was extremely proud of the man I got to see him turn in to. I do remember a time when we were at a fire alarm at the dormitory on base and we were tracking down the cause of an alarm. I asked him to head to the third floor and get in the mechanical room. He came back and said it was locked. I told him that I needed into that room but he wasnt allowed to force the door yet, the master key was on the way. I should probably tell you that I always had a rule with him. The rule was he had to try three different ways to do something before he was allowed to break it. So the next thing I hear on the radio is IC this is Truck 21. At that moment I knew I would be doing a lot of paperwork. He proceeded to ask my location so he could come talk face to face and there was my second indicator that I wasnt going to like what he was about to say. He came walking up with a huge smile on his face and simply said good news is (the source of the alarm) its not in the Mech room on the third floor. I looked at him and noticed his arms were behind his back and I asked him how do you know that Mr. Baxter? His reply was I tried three time and yep it was still locked so I kicked the door and it opened. Bad news is the louvers on the vent and the door frame might be slightly broken. As he removed his arms from behind his back and handed me the louvers from the door. I could always count on Evan if it was just comic relief or to have my back I know he was there. He will be missed and never forgotten. Anne, Mike, Lori I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you will always have the full support of not only myself but all of Beale Fire Department. Rest Easy brother well take it from here.

Mike & Lori -
There are no words to adequately express the depth of my sympathies for the loss of Evan. In my mind, he will always be a sweet and precocious little boy, obsessed with hockey and smiling the biggest smile on the planet. May the love and support from your families and friends be your beacon in this dark and tragic time.

Hi Mike and Lori. I never really got to know Evan, but I heard you talk about him often when he came into this world. I am shocked and saddened by the news of his passing at such a young age and so much happiness lying in front of him. I pray for you and the rest of your family to get through this very traumatic time. May God watch over you and be by your side during the coming days. Claudia (Charlie) Fitzgerald
