Gabriel (Gabe) Joseph Guerrero passed away on Sunday, July 20th, 2014 in Redding, CA of stomach cancer. Gabe was born April 16th, 1948 in Topeka, Kansas to Joseph Ponciano Guerrero and Ignatia Toledo Guerrero.
He is survived by his sons Kevin Guerrero of Auburn, CA and Michael Guerrero of Menifee, CA, granddaughters Taylor Sartori, Carlyn, Ashley, and Amy Guerrero, his sisters Cecelia, Diana, and Ava, and brother Jim (all of Nebraska), and his closest friends; Nina, Doug, Janice and cousin Yvonne (Anita).
He attended the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO. He received multiple financial industry awards and achievements on a National and International level. He was a Registered Investment Advisor and owner and principal for Guerrero Financial Services until his death.
He served in the US Navy from 1966 - 1970 in Vietnam, and was formerly a sworn peace officer with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He was an avid fisherman, who would have spent his last days on the water fishing for salmon if he was able. He also enjoyed swimming and scuba diving. One of his favorite quotes was: "Man who says 'It can not be done' should not interrupt man who is doing it" - Chinese Proverb.
A small private service may be held for immediate family at a time to be determined, and his ashes will be spread at sea per his request.
His (and the family's) wish is that in lieu of flowers or other items, those who are willing may make donations in his name to the "Bear River High School Music Department, 11130 Magnolia Rd., Grass Valley, CA 95949" (530-268-3700) to allow his grandchildren and others to be able to continue to experience music in their schools.
