Gordon Redding Obituary

REDDING- Born January 16, 1930, Gordon made his final departure from his home in Redding, CA early Thursday morning, January 24, 2008. With Betsy, his bride of nearly 58 years by his side and his three children Roger, Jane, and Kim they sat as a family for one last time celebrating the laughter and love that Gordon brought into their world. Even when his health was frail his sense of humor was strong. Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him will always remember the smile on his face and the sounds of his laughter will forever echo in our hearts.

He was predeceased by his older brother Donald (2007) and is survived by his two older sisters Phyllis Mack and Evelyn Krause both of Wisconsin. His memory will live on through his wife Betsy and their three children Roger (his wife Sue), Jane (her husband Tom), and Kim (with his wife Missy).

From 1963 to 1995 Gordon and Betsy lived a happy and full life in southern California residing in Escondido before starting their well deserved retirement in beautiful Shasta County.

Gordon is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren whom all loved and enjoyed every moment with him.

A Memorial Service for Gordon will be held at First Christian Church, 3590 Placer Street, Redding, CA at 2 p.m. Monday January 28, 2008. In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to any of the following organizations: Mercy Hospice, 1544 Market Street, Redding, CA 96001; American Cancer Society, 3290 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002; First Christian Church, 3590 Placer Street, Redding, CA 96001.
