Karl Shaver Obituary

In Loving Memory of Karl J. Shaver. There will be a funeral service with honors held at the Igo Veterans Cemetery on April 17th 2009 at 2 in the afternoon. Following the service, there will be a meeting of all friends, families, and loved ones at the Anderson River Park. He will always be loved by all and we feel that he deserves to be honored forever, we hope you can make it to the service.
Karl was well known throughout Shasta county and graduated from Anderson high school in 1968.
As a marine, he was a rifle instructor and later became employed with Terminix, Lowery's, Woods Pest Control and then went onto Simpson Paper Mill till it was closed. He left his older sister, Karen Trottno, younger brother Mel, and daughter, Evelyn. He
enjoyed fishing, camping, stargazing, and gold panning. He was one who loved life to the fullest and made sure that everyone else around him did too. He loved to make people smile and laugh, and always cared about everyone. He lived on the river like he wanted too and always had a kind word about everyone, no matter what. We will love and miss you dearly Karl!
If you would like more information you can call

My dear friend Eve,

Losing a loved one is never an easy thing. It is during this time sadness surrounds you and all the worries begin to pile up. There are ways through this. Look back on all the things your father did and see how he made all those he loved happy. Then look at all the people who are here for you and your family in this time of loss. Know that you will always have someone watching out for you and an ear to listen when you need to talk. I never had a chance to meet your father but I'm sure he is very proud of you. I tip my hat to him because without him I wouldn't know such a good, wonderful, and caring person like you Evelyn.

Aunt Cindy and Cousin Evelyn,

I am so sorry for your loss. I know throughout the years we have lost touch and grown apart. It is untimely that such an event will bring us to reconnect. Evelyn, stay strong. Your father was a wonderful man and touched so many lives. He will always be with you, guiding you, motivating you to do and achieve great things in life. Keep your head up. I wish I could be there for you at this difficult time; to offer comfort, support, friendship, and love. Take care. You are both in my prayers. With Love, your niece and cousin

Evelyn, I am very sorry for the loss of your father. Karl was my older brother, and growing up with him was alot of fun! He taught me more things than I can count, and saved my life more than once when we were kids. I will miss being able to talk with him about our childhood memories, and all of the laughter about the times we shared. Thank you Evelyn for giving him the send off with honors that he deserved, and for being a great daughter to him. I know he is very proud. Karl, My Brother, May You Rest in Peace until we see each other again. I Love You, Mel

Karl and I decided to go see what Haight-Ashbury looked like in 1968. Having fun with Karl was an understatement. Sorry for your loss.

I met Karl in the early 70's when we worked at RED STAR. NOBODY enjoyed life more than him and he made it fun to be around him always. On 2 different occasions Karl saved my life or at least from very serious harm. I dont think I have ever laughed at or with anyone more than Karl. I am at a loss to express how bad I feel about not calling him recently. I will be at his service "with bells on"as he might have said.
