Michael Clark Obituary

Michael Clark
1948 - 2012

A Burial Ceremony will be held for Michael Harlan Clark on August 10, 2013, in the family Indian burial grounds; he was a member of the Pit River Tribe. The burial grounds are located within the Whiskeytown Cemetery and the service will be held at 11:00 AM.

He was born on May 20, 1948, to Doris Mayer Clark and Harlan Clark in Redding, CA. The family moved to Red Bluff in 1956. While living there, Michael became one of the youngest Eagle Scouts at the age of 12.

Michael is survived by three children, Indigo Clark-Dubay (Edward) of Grovetown, GA, Jasen of Los Molinos, CA, Brandon of New York City, NY, and three grandchildren. Also surviving is his mother, Doris Shaffer of Santa Maria, CA, and a brother, Joseph (Laura) Clark and family of Paso Robles, CA.

Michael attended schools in Red Bluff, CA, and was a graduate of Shasta Jr. College in Redding, CA. While motorcycle-riding for a charity event, he was in an accident and died in Bend, OR, on June 8, 2012, at the age of 64. Michael was meticulous with restoring motorcycles and restoring vintage vehicles; he owned a shop in Chico. After retiring from construction work in Oregon, he avidly pursued his hobby of gold mining. Michael was devoted to Our Lord.

I did not know Michael, but wish I had. He gave his life while trying to help the less fortunate. I have great admiration for the man. He is with the Lord and I am sure he is doing good works there. God bless you, Michael.
