Robert Hinchcliffe Obituary
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary, daughter Peggy Reinthaler (Tom) of Santa Clara, CA, son, Lewis Hinchcliffe of Santa Cruz, CA, grandson, Jacob Reinthaler, brother, Al Hinchcliffe (Barbara) of Candor, NY, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Bill. Hinch was raised in Appalachin, NY and was a graduate of Owego Free Academy, Class of 1951. Before moving to Redding, CA in 1994, he resided in Owego, NY and San Jose, CA. He enjoyed a 34 1/2 year career with IBM Corporation. He was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church and The Brotherhood of Saint Andrew. He was an Honorary Life Member and PER of BPOE #1039, Owego, NY, an Associate Member of BPOE #1073, Redding, CA, a 32nd Degree Mason and Life Member of Tokyo Masonic Lodge #2, American Legion Post 401, Owego, NY, the Redding, CA Branch of SIRS and the IBM Retirement Club. He served with the US ARMY, 11TH Airborne Division and New York and California National Guard Special Forces.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2 p.m., All Saints Episcopal Church, 2150 Benton Drive, Redding, CA, Rev. Jeff Frost celebrating. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to your local branch of The Salvation Army, All Saints Episcopal Church at the above address designating BUILDING AND GROUNDS FUND on your check, or the charity of your choice.
