I did not know, Roberta, but I just discovered today that I own one of her paintings which I have enjoyed for many many years (photo below). I happened to look her up on the Internet today and discovered who she was. I love her painting that I have and she will live on in the beauty of it that I enjoy each and every day. If I had discovered who she was earlier, I certainly would´ve tried to reach out because as an artist, I´m sure she would´ve loved to know that someone was enjoying one of her creations. But that´s one great thing about the Internet is that you can find out information about this lovely artist who sounds as though she led a wonderful life and brought much love and art to many.

It was with sadness that we read of Deannie's passing. I had seen and admired her work for many, many years before I actually met her. It was when she brought her grand daughter to our house to see if they wanted to buy the cocker spaniel puppy we had recently acquired. Deannie and I laughed as that puppy and little girl happily bonded, running around in our backyard. Soon, off they went with puppy in tow. She planned to name it BoDean, a combination of her name and that of her late husband. She told me to feel free to come by and see the puppy any time, but I never did, respecting the fact that it was now her dog and not mine. She kept us updated, though, whenever we ran into her; sometimes it was her daughter-in-law, who knew Steve through business, who brought us up to date. However, we did not know Deannie was ill. I last saw her at an artist's lunch at Armando's and spoke to her briefly. I told her I was now beginning to take art lessons, and she smiled and wished me well. What I didn't say was that her work, which I absolutely love, is part of what inspired me to start--and to continue--taking those lessons. I hope she knew anyway. I still have one of her business cards, which I am now going to frame. The front depicts what I believe is one of her son's hands and feet as he sits by the edge of a pool. It is a detailed study of light and shadow, done to perfection, just like Deannie. She will be missed. Sending the family our prayers for peace~

Deannie
One of my mom's best friend. They worked together in the DA's Office in Weaverville and later in the same law office of Lopez and Kennedy.
Deannie was in my life for over 50 years. She was a good influence....a mentor that I could do better... a good friend and confidant...
She raised three magnificent sons who brought her fantastic grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I'll miss her gentle voice and soft sense of humor
Happy trails Deannie....

What a wonderful, caring, helpful lady, and artist.
How sad to loose a wonderful lady, that gave so much of herself for others.
Her love of life shown through others, and her art.

Just loved Deanie, her smile, stories and the love she had for life. I fell in love with one of her paintings and the next thing I knew she gave it to me, I will always cherish that painting. She will forever be in our hearts. Thanks for all the great memories Deanie.

Deannie was such a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. We are so thankful to have known her and had her in our lives. She painted a stunning portrait of our first child as a gift to us. It is a centerpiece of our home. Our condolences to the family.
Sincerely
Sean Wilson and family.
